Timberland Hiking Boots
Timberland hiking boots are among the finest in the world and are based on nearly one hundred years of development by a true family firm.
Today Timberland is known for a wide range of different products but it started life nearly one hundred years ago when the founder, Nathan Swartz, started his apprenticeship in a small shoe company in Boston, Massachusetts in 1918. He learned his craft from the ground up cutting leather, stitching seams and perfecting the art of making high quality boots.
In 1952 he bought a fifty percent stake in the Abington Shoe Company and three years later, in 1955, he bought the rest of the company and brought his son in to work alongside him. For the next ten years Swartz and son not only made boots but also attacked the problem of waterproofing, which was unknown at that time, and introduced the technology of injection molding to the footwear industry.
In 1973 "Timberland" was born and was originally simply a brand name for the original waterproof leather boot. It soon however became the company name and at the end of the 1970s and throughout the 1980s Timberland added a range of men's and women's casual shoes and boots to its range and also moved into a range of international lifestyle brands.
Today the name of Timberland is known all over the world with outlets not only throughout the West but now as far flung as countries such as Thailand. So, no matter where you are, if you are looking for a pair of high quality hiking boots which will provide you with support, comfort,
traction and durability from a company with excellent reviews and a considerable track record, then Timberland hiking boots will almost certainly meet your needs.
